Governor Corzine names Susan Bass
Levin as deputy director of the port authority of New York and New
Jersey

Governor Jon S. Corzine today announced that he is appointing Susan
Bass Levin, Commissioner of the Department of Community Affairs (DCA),
as the next Deputy Director of the Port Authority of New York and
New Jersey.

Governor Jon S. Corzine today announced the award of over $1.5
million in Domestic Violence Shelter Grants. The funds will go to 19
shelters across New Jersey.
Governor Corzine announces agreement
to allow DRPA to resume meeting
TRENTON, May
17, 2007.-
Governor Jon S. Corzine today announced an agreement with the state
of Pennsylvania that will allow the Delaware River Port Authority (DRPA)
to resume meeting. The agreement in no way indicates New Jersey's
consent to the Delaware River dredging project, and the state
retains the ability to thoroughly review and deny any permitting
associated with this project.
Acting Governor signs
legislation expanding neighborhood revitalization tax credit program
TRENTON, May

Acting Governor Richard J. Codey today signed legislation expanding
the Neighborhood Revitalization Tax Credit (NRTC) program. He also
signed two bills, A-3768/S-2419 and A-3334/S-2131, authorizing
short-term tax exemptions for families whose homes are modified by
charitable entities.

membership of campus security task force

Acting Governor Richard J. Codey today announced the membership of
the Campus Security Task Force, which was formed in response to the
recent shootings at Virginia Tech. The task force will be co-chaired
by Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness Director Dick Canas
and Commission on Higher Education Executive Director Jane Oates.

PSE&G decision to pull ads from offensive ‘jersey guys’ radio
program

Assemblyman Wilfredo Caraballo today applauded Verizon and PSE&G’s
decision to pull their advertising from the “Jersey Guys” radio
show, which urged listeners to engage in Latino profiling as part of
an ethnically offensive publicity stunt called “Operation Rat a
Rat/La Cucha Gotcha.”
